BSN Round 41: Capitanes lose to Cariduros

Top ranked Capitanes (22-9) recorded its ninth loss in Fajardo on Thursday night. Visitors were defeated by fourth ranked Cariduros (17-13) 72-58. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Capitanes. Cariduros looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The best player for the winners was guard Antonio Ralat (188, college: UAB) who scored 16 points and 6 rebounds. Forward Leandro Allende (198-98, college: Barry, agency: Green Sports Management) chipped in 11 points and 7 rebounds. The former international Christopher Gaston (201-89, college: Fordham) produced 7 points and 13 rebounds for the guests. Defending champion maintains fourth place with 17-13 record. Capitanes at the other side still keep top position with nine games lost. They share it with Guayama.
Fifth-ranked Gigantes (5-25) made lots of trouble for fourth ranked Piratas (18-13) in Carolina. The visitors from Quebradillas managed to secure only one-point victory 110-109. However their fans expected easier game. The former international swingman Alejandro Carmona (194-83) saved the victory with a double-double by scoring 34 points (!!!) and 12 rebounds. James Mays contributed with 10 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. International center Timajh Parker-Rivera (202-94, college: Towson) answered with a double-double by scoring 26 points and 13 rebounds (on 12-of-14 shooting from the field) for Gigantes. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Piratas moved-up to second place, which they share with Ponce. Gigantes lost tenth consecutive game. They keep the fifth position with 25 games lost.
An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Santurce. First ranked Vaqueros faced 4th placed Cangrejeros. Guests from Bayamon (27-3) defeated host Cangrejeros (14-16) 67-59. Javier Mojica stepped up and scored 20 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Vaqueros' coach used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Michael Beasley responded with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 11 rebounds. Defending champion maintains first place with 27-3 record. Cangrejeros lost third consecutive game. They keep the fourth position with 16 games lost.

In the last game of round 41 Carolina were defeated by Bayamon in a road game 97-88.
The best stats of 41th round was 25 points and 23 rebounds by Owens Perez of Bayamon.



Santurce - Bayamon 59-67

An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Santurce. First ranked Vaqueros faced 4th placed Cangrejeros. Guests from Bayamon (27-3) defeated host Cangrejeros (14-16) 67-59. They outrebounded Cangrejeros 50-36 including a 37-25 advantage in defensive rebounds. Vaqueros looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. The former international Javier Mojica (189-84, college: CCSU, agency: Paris Global Sports) stepped up and scored 20 points and 5 rebounds for the winners and power forward Owens Perez (206-92) chipped in 5 points and 16 rebounds. Vaqueros' coach used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games.
